Harlem Lanes
Harlem stand up! On the corner of 126th St. & Adam Clayton Powell Blvd. sits something that anyone born within the last three decades has never seen...A neighborhood bowling alley. With 24 lanes, a sports bar with large-screen televisions, private party rooms and a full dining menu, Harlem Lanes seems more like the place to be on a Friday night.Though, one of four bowling alleys in Manhattan, it is the only one above 42nd St. Its 2 floor entertainment center will be open year round.
As to why this is such a landmark venture; it is owned by Gail Richards and Sharon Joseph, who are believed to be the first black women to own a bowling alley in Ameria!
