Judge blocks graffiti law aimed at youth

A Federal Judge has blocked enforcement of part of a city anti-graffiti law aimed at those between the ages of 18 and 21.

The ruling temporarily allows young adults to purchase graffiti tools, while the lawsuit continues through the courts. This is exactly what was needed to revive grass-roots art. These laws seem to punish everyone, not taking into account the thousands of aspiring artists in this city. The suit was headed by 7 students, and supported by Mark Ecko.
