A day without an immigrant

Today, Monday, May 1st, has been set aside for immigrants as a day to boycott work, school and buying in order to prove their worth to their communities.

Though a powerful and direct way to send a message, a lot of these immigrants fear deportation or being fired, so alot chose to protest in several other ways; most popular being not spending a single penny anywhere! Others chose to rally or form human chains.

Students at several universities including Harvard, are staging rallies to support the movement. Union Square has also been marked a meeting point for a rally at 4pm. With everything that this country has gone through with the mishandling of immigrant relations, I don't see why any law-abiding human being cannot participate in owning a piece of the American Dream...Just remember, when it's your turn don't burn the bridge.
