John Gotti Jr, son of New York's most loved mob boss, John Gotti, says he will leave New York this time if exonerated of racketeering charges.

"I'm alone in this world. I'm a man without an island." Gotti told the Daily News. The trial is set for August, after two previous juries deadlocked on charges he arranged the beating of radio host Curtis Sliwa. Now New York doesn't have any memoirs left of the good ol' days, so I think Gotti should stay. You can't erase New York History good or bad.

According to a survey by Mercer Human Resource Consulting, New York City is still the most expensive city in America. The survey which measured more than 200 items such as food, housing and transportation, also cited New York as the 10th most expensive city in the world, tied with Norway.

Moscow was rated the most expensive city in the world, followed by Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong and London. In the U.S. New York was followed by los Angeles which fell to 29th overall, the San Francisco, Chicago and Miami, respectively. Is this survey for entertainment purposes or do they actually plan on doing something about it...cause being labeled one of the top expensive cities doesn't fall too well with me.

As if rent wasn't high enough, the Rent Guidelines Board voted to raise rent on 1-million rent stabilized apartments. In true New Yorker form, hundreds filled up the Great Hall at Cooper Union in Manhattan armed with pots, drums, whistle, temporarily postponing the meeting, but to no avail, the board voted in favor 5 to 4. These increases apply to leases renewed from October 1st, 2006 to September 30th, 2007.

Boy George has been ordered to perform 5 days of community service before the end of August, for wasting Police time. The punishment stems from a call George made to police last october falsely reporting that his home had been burglurized. Boy George will humbly pick up leaves and garbage in New York, his manager confirmed. Anyone sees him, snap a picture and sent it to us ASAP!

Though it seems obvious, doctors are warning against using your mobile phone outdoors, during a thunder storm. Several cases have been reported worldwide. When someone gets struck by lighting the high resistance of the skin conducts the flash over the body, but if a metal object, such as a phone was to be added to the mix, the result can be internal injuries or even death. Currently, there are no official warnings towards use of your mobile phone during extreme temperatures, but thats why god blessed you with common sense right?

A New York City councilman is proposing limiting the number of fast food restaurants in the city. Councilman Joel Rivera says its a great idea to put in effect, while others heavily disagree. Sounds familiar? maybe because its the same tactics New York used to limit the number of adult-themed stores.

Unsurprisingly, New York has been rated one of the World's most polite cities. In an undercover report conducted by Reader's Digest, 4 out of 5 New Yorker's passed the test.

AMD is in discussions to build a $3.5 billion chip manufacturing plant that could bring 2,000 permanent jobs to upstate New York.

The number of Millionaires in the world has risen once again. There are about 8.9 millionaires in the world, with 2.9 million residing in the U.S., 2.8 in Europe and 2.5 in Asia...in total thats more than the population of New York combined.

Things were apparently returning to normal...so New York decided to spice things up and investigate an ice skating rink for playing....christian music? I've heard of Reggae night, Salsa night...even karoake night...don't see what's wrong with a religious night?

Betting on Horse racing online could soon be legal in New York, thanks to a bill that has been given final approval by New York state Legislature. Seems like the first step in tightening the noose on these extra resources of income that are available.

Magician David Blaine is ready to entertain the world with yet another stunt in New York City. The magician who spent days under water before failing to break the record for holding his breath underwater, now plans to do his next trick on top of water!

Blaine plans on suspending himself from the Brooklyn Bridge, 135ft above the East River. He is currently practicing for the stunt, with no set date. One thing he is promising is a spectacular end to challenge.

President Bush spoke today to graduates of the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y. The president, which if I'm not mistaken is the first in history to visit the New York site used his time to adress Iran. Don't you think a few quotes, well wishes, and cheers would've did the job?

Senator Chuck Schumer is calling on the federal government to restore City anti-terror funds after credible sources warned against an attack in New York City using cyanide gas in the subway. The attack which was allegedly thwarted by the killing of Ayman al-Zawahri is described in a new book by author Ron Suskind "The One Percent Doctrine". The scary and chilling part is that the alleged attack was only 45 days away!

This doesn't sound like such a bad idea. New York City plans on building 2 state-of-the-art anti-terror boats. The boats will cost about $30 million, which will be deducted from the already anorexic anti-terror funds New York recieves. Officials plan on docking one of the boats in Staten Island, with the second one being undetermined. Brooklyn doesn't sound like a bad host for the boat...makes me feel safer.

It does not get any crazier than this. The Mayor of Jersey City, Jeremiah Healy, is crying foul after allegedly being roughed up by NJ police. Healy, who was walking out of a bar, and allegedly saw a couple arguing, tried to intervene, that's when police say he interfered with the investigation and proceeded to handcuff the mayor. He also claims that his wife was shoved to the ground, and cops also maced him...in both eyes! It is very clear and present danger, when a MAYOR uses the words "police brutality".

Prince will be performing tomorrow, June 16th at Bryant Park as part of the free Good Morning America 2006 concert series. The shows start at 7:00 A.M., but plan to arrive no later than 6:00 A.M. if you want a decent view.

Chances are you've never seen Ronaldo Martinez, or maybe even heard of him...but one thing for sure, He's got New York's attention with his anti-smoking ads.

"I was 39 when I got throat cancer from smoking cigarettes," Martinez says in one commercial. "I almost died. Now there is a permanent hole in my throat."

Martinez walks around with a white bib, which he lifts to reveal the hole in his throat. Some people are shocked, some are scared-straight, but one thing for sure, the ad has affected everyone who's encountered it in some shape or form. The Health Department says it has recieved 15,000 calls about quitting smoking since airing the commercial, compared to 5,000 this time last year. Cigarettes are the worst drug to ever hit the market, as bad as any other illegal drug is, it's not as easily accessable as tobacco, and one things for sure, no one profits more off death than big tobacco companies...well maybe this guy but that's another story. New York's department of Health has many tips and resources to help smokers quit, visit them here and quit smoking today!

Governor Pataki signed a new law promoting tougher punishment to those convicted of burning crosses or defacing property with Nazi swastikas. (This took long enough, maybe if it were implemented earlier we would have less Ku Klux Klan members on the street.)

The New Jersey Transit board of directors is considering adding a rail-link from New York to Atlantic City, giving gamblers more options to reach the East-Coasts gambling Mecca. (One thing that doesn't make sense is that the trip would take 2.5 hours, the same time it takes on a bus from Manhattan. It shows convenience, but no improvement.)

New York City's using wireless technology to access important information for emergency responders. The Citywide Mobile Wireless Network (CMWN) will allow NYPD/FD quickly access and download information including city maps, building plans and federal and state counter-terrorism and crime databases from police vehicles and fire and EMS apparatus.

Singer Kevin Aviance, who was attacked in the East Village by a group of youths yelling anti-gay slurs, still hopes to perform in the Gay Pride parade at the end of the month. The singer underwent surgery for a broken jaw and other injuries, after being viciously beaten.

I'm telling you, this next generation is going to be a handful! New York students are now using a cellphone ring-tone that is too high pitched for adults to hear. As people become of age, they apparently develop what's called aging ear---a loss of the ability to hear higher-frequency sounds. Click here and see if you can hear the ring-tone.

An unprofessional cab driver caused a wreck that resulted in the death of a Pace University sophomore, and injured three others. It seems like rap music is getting blamed for everything these days, as the victims, claim the driver refused to lower his blairing rap music, before losing control.

The FBI reports that crime is up nationwide, for the first time since 2001. Interestingly enough, New York actually saw a drop in violent crime. The city saw drops in categories like murder and rape from the year before. There was only an increase in robberies.

Kapicua! Latin-America's favorite pastime, Dominoe's is getting national attention. A Bergen Beach pet grooming store is under fire for allegedly letting a three-year-old shitzu sit in a drying case long enough to die of heat stroke. The devastated owner and her daughter were offered a brand new shiztu....at no charge? Sounds like the store owner feels he's doing them a favor?

The 'CEO Of Hip-Hop', Jay-z aka Sir Hova of Brooklyn, side-swiped New York yesterday with the news that he will be performing at Radio City Music Hall on June 25th to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt. Unfortunately, the sad news is that tickets went on sale TODAY at 9am!

For those of you who missed this yesterday during the NBA finals, here's the HP commercial starring Jay-z that came on last night. Impressive.

The first cuts made by the Dept of Homeland Security were a slap to the face of New Yorkers. Now, bioterrorism funds have been cut back also, I see this more as a hog-spit to the face! The Centers for Disease Control has proposed cutting bioterror funds for New York state by 17 percent, and New York City's funding by 15 percent. This is getting ridiculous and with the recent killing of Abu Musab al-Zarwawi, doesn't it seem we have more to worry about?

New York Lawmakers are looking to consider race to identify potential terror suspects. I think its long over due, we've got to stop worrying about hurting peoples feelings, and care more for ourselves, atleast when it comes to our safety.

Today is June 6th, 2006, or 6-6-6 as most fear. Many people fear 666 because its an unknown, some don't even know what they are fearing, just following suit. What is the actual prophecy of the '666'?

Revelation 13:16-18

"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the Mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six

More than 8,000 people who worked at Ground Zero, following the September 11th terrorist attacks filed a lawsuit claiming proper respirators were not made available. I'm all pro-health, but wasn't it obvious after that BIG cloud of dust, following the collapse of the towers, that the area was not safe? I don't think we need an experts opinion on that.

Take a good look at the guy pictured above you. For those of you not in the know, this is our Homeland Security Secretary, Michael Chertoff. Mr. Chertoff is going to cut the amount of money New York City receives in anti-terrorism grants by 40 percent, from $208 million to $124 million. Where do you ask this money is going to? According to Chertoff, the money will be allocated to cities most at risk!

It shouldn't matter, it's not like we have much to lose. Chertoff says that New York has just four major financial assets that are at risk...and [drum-roll please]...no national monuments or icons! That's a low blow. Maybe New York doesn't deserve the money, we've only had over 3,000 casualties, and billions of dollars lost in the biggest terror attack on American soil in history. Please, please contact the Dept Of Homeland Security, and let your voices be heard.
