Singer Kevin Aviance, who was attacked in the East Village by a group of youths yelling anti-gay slurs, still hopes to perform in the Gay Pride parade at the end of the month. The singer underwent surgery for a broken jaw and other injuries, after being viciously beaten.

I'm telling you, this next generation is going to be a handful! New York students are now using a cellphone ring-tone that is too high pitched for adults to hear. An unprofessional cab driver caused a wreck that resulted in the death of a Pace University sophomore, and injured three others. It seems like rap music is getting blamed for everything these days, as the victims, claim the driver refused to lower his blairing rap music, before losing control.

The FBI reports that crime is up nationwide, for the first time since 2001. Interestingly enough, New York actually saw a drop in violent crime. The city saw drops in categories like murder and rape from the year before. There was only an increase in robberies.
