The National Hockey League is considering staging a regular season hockey game outdoors. The Game would feature the New York Rangers versus the New York Islanders, with Yankee Stadium being considered as a possible home for the event.

If accepted by the teams and Yankee Stadium, the game would take place on January 1st. This is not the first time the NHL has played an outdoor hockey game, in 2003 the Canadiens beat the Oilers 4-3 in front of 56,000 fans at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium.

Flooding in upstate New York has forced President Bush to declare 8 New York counties as federal disasters. Though rain and flooding affected over 13 counties, only 8 were declared of disaster magnitude. Gov. Pataki lashed out at the federal response, while announcing a $35 million state emergency package. Pennsylvania and New Jersey also had areas affected by rain, and considered disaster areas.

New York City is looking for owed back-taxes from the Indian government, after India allegedly used real estate for non-diplomatic purposes. The lawsuit stems from 20-floors of a 26-floor skyscraper owned by India, and used as apartments, which the city wants to tax. PAY UP!!

Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik has pleaded guilty to accepting thousands of dollars in gifts, while he was in charge of the city's Correction Department. $165,000 dollars in renovations to his home from a construction company??? Failing to report a loan as required by the city's law?? These incidents don't seem isolated, and sound more like bribes as opposed to "gifts". But i guess it's only cheating...if your caught. They let him go with a slap on the wrist.

A Tornado touched down in Buffalo, NY, flipping a truck and a construction trailer with a worker inside, no serious injuries reported.
