NYPD: ' Kingdom Done '

Authorities shut down Avalon nightclub on Wednesday night, a half hour before it was set to host a party celebrating the release of Jay-z' latest album, Kingdom Come.

Hundreds of fans were turned away as news spread of the shutdown. The Chelsea Church, turned nightclub, was allegedly closed because of ongoing problems with its certificate of occupancy. The scene became heated as Police and Fire officials presence increased, but the night went without incident. Most patrons just skated off to Club Deep or Eugene's, all nearby, in this club heavy area.

FYI: Manager's expect Avalon to be closed throughout the holiday weekend [costing the club about $500,000].
