In protest of a looming fare hike, the Straphangers Campaign handed out customized candies at the monthly board meeting of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
One of the candies was an"Oh Eliot!" bar (above).
“It’s really a plea to the governor, which is, ‘Oh, Eliot, please come to the rescue of the riding public,” said Gene Russianoff, the staff lawyer for the Straphangers, a rider advocacy group."
Other candies included a pink and white box of "Gov & Plenty". Comedy.
