PS 3 - Only 400,000 units in the US....8 million people in NYC


Today is the official launch date for the PlayStation 3 in the US...but don't tell that to the hundreds of people who have been lining up at stores all over New York City, since Sunday.

News broke fast of any and all stores that were selling the gaming console at 12 midnight, Friday morning, and by Wednesday afternoon, over 300 people had already line up at Circuit City in Union Square.

Circuit City was the place to be if you were a PS3 fan. The Electronic megastore, announced that the first 100 people online were eligible to buy a PS3 on launch night, and 100 lucky others would have the chance to win one for free. After 2am, all that was left was empty chairs, garbage all over the floor, and a heavy police presence, needless to say countless amounts went home empty handed....just don't include me in that bunch :)
