The Moment of Truth

Its Monday, 8pm, I'm getting ready to watch Prison Break...or so I thought. Fox had other plans, they aired 'The Moment Of Truth', a show in which contestants must answer personal questions truthfully in order to win money. Usually, I would've blew up by now, tossed anything within arms reach as hard as I can...but this show came with a disclaimer...and disclaimers only mean one thing! Good tv.

In this particular episode, the contestant Lauren, has already admitted to stealing from her job, hiding her wedding ring, cheating on her husband, Frank!....you watch the rest. This is classic tv.

Lil Wayne Pleads Not Guilty to NYC gun-charges

Rapper Lil Wayne aka Dwayne Carter, appeared in New York to enter a plea of 'Not Guilty' on weapons possession charges, stemming from an incident that occurred last July while the rapper was in town performing.

Wayne faces two felony criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

Someone must've not told em about ol' Bloomy's strict gun-laws. smh. But seriously, I think the NYPD should stop embarrassing themselves by babysitting these grown men. Rock-stars get the paparazzi...Rappers get police? There are so many other important things those officers could be doing than following rappers...I dont know, maybe it's just me, but I see a pattern of school-shootings, popping up all over the country, I think that poses a bigger future threat for us than doin the Soulja Boy..

The old-new-Brooklyn

Brooklyn was always known as the home of the Mafia and Junior's Cheesecake, but now, it seems like Brooklyn is the new adopted home of everything hot in NYC. First, Brooklyn was hit with heavy gentrification, then it followed with Target opening a store in Downtown. Now, all companies are following suit. Following the success of Ihop's eatery in Brooklyn, you can expect three more locations to open in Bed-Stuy, East New York, and Williamsburg.

It's not going to stop there either. We already know the Nets are apparently moving to Brooklyn. Ikea's opening up it's biggest store in Redhook, and Target is opening yet ANOTHER store just blocks from its current location. On top of that Amy Ruth's and Morton's Steakhouse are planning moves to this great city, but the one that has every one drooling is Apple, who is planning a major move to Williamsburg. Now...what was it that they were saying about this recession? [Source]

Clinton campaign turns to dirty politics

Hillary Clinton's staffers have leaked a photo of Presidential hopeful Barack Obama, donning traditional Somalian garbs. I'm almost amazed and ashamed of the Clinton's. They are the last people who should be dishing dirt. I'm not even mad, what I really would like to know is, how were they planning on hurting Obama? by suggesting he is a Muslim? so now there's something wrong with Muslims? I find it even more amazing that Clinton's aides didn't even deny leaking the photos! This is a sad day...Here are quick quotes:

"On the very day that Senator Clinton is giving a speech about restoring respect for America in the world, her campaign has engaged in the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we've seen from either party in this election,.... This is part of a disturbing pattern that led her county chairs to resign in Iowa, her campaign chairman to resign in New Hampshire, and it's exactly the kind of divisive politics that turns away Americans of all parties and diminishes respect for America in the world," David Plouffe [Obama's campaign manager] said in a statement.

"If Barack Obama's campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed," Clinton's campaign manager, Maggie Williams replied. "Hillary Clinton has worn the traditional clothing of countries she has visited and had those photos published widely."

$4 Slice of Pizza in Brooklyn

High gas prices? Over the top rent? Try $4 for a slice of pizza! Difara'a Pizza has raised the price of its slices to $4, because the importing of fresh ingredients from Italy, used for their pizza was getting costly. Difara's is now the official home of the most expensive pizza in the city (not including airports and arenas).

Obama snubbed in NYC

The NY Times is reporting that due to reasons unknown, many of Barack Obama's votes in Nyc went unreported.

  1. The unofficial results reported on primary night found about 80 election districts among the city’s 6,106 where Mr. Obama supposedly did not receive even one vote, including cases where he ran a respectable race in a nearby district.
  2. Black voters are heavily represented in the 94th Election District in Harlem’s 70th Assembly District. Yet according to the unofficial results from the New York Democratic primary last week, not a single vote in the district was cast for Senator Barack Obama.

Formal review of the results will not be finished for weeks. Though revised numbers show a more even fight, there have to be answers as to why these cooked numbers are leaked to the public. Read More

Report shows racial divide in subway frisks

A Daily News investigation, (to no one's surprise) revealed that Black's and Hispanic's account for almost 9 out of every 10 subway frisks by the NYPD.
  1. Blacks and Hispanics make up 49% of subway riders, yet account for nearly 90% of the citizens stopped and questioned in the subways in the last two years.
  2. Whites make up 35.5% of subway ridership, yet they account for a mere 7.9% of the subway riders stopped in the last two years, records show.
  3. Since 2004, the number of subway riders stopped by police increased nearly 10-fold from 2,769 to 27,077 and continued to hold steady last year. (Bag searches are not considered stops).
I remember the NYPD stating that their presence underground was to combat crime and prevent any terrorist attacks, If we're trying to make NYC safer, then why aren't we searching ALL of NYC? 9 out of 10!? You can take those odds to Vegas! Crime above-ground has dropped, but searches underground go up? confusing. This is nothing new obviously, the question is what is it going to take for people to stand up and say enough is enough? First they raise fares, then they morally degrade you? Me personally, I'm ready to get my 'We Shall overcome' on any day now. If you've ever been stopped and frisked by the NYPD then you know the moral degradation that accompanies it. I am by no means willing to accept these numbers. Numbers simply do not lie.

Roger Clemens: 'I'm Innocent'

Wow, The members of Congress literally grilled Roger Clemens and Brian McNamee for 4 hours and 40 minutes, and I enjoyed every second of it. Bombshell evidence was brought to Clemens attention, including proof that places him at 'Jose Canseco's BBQ'. Other revealing information included that Clemens wife did in fact take HGH shots, and Andy Petite stated that Clemens did in fact admit to taking HGH.

I could sit here and tell you everything Clemens said but that would be another 4 hr process. The saddening part was that there really was no conclusion to this discussion. The circumstantial evidence is definitely against Clemens and he has no words or proof to back it up. I don't know about this one, in my personal opinion, based on what I have seen thus far, this man has definitely taken a shot or two up the buttocks. I'll let you be the judge of that. Read More
